EpoxyPro EP2550 Slow Cure Plumbing & Electrical Pit Filling Epoxy
EpoxyPro EP2550 Slow Cure Plumbing & Electrical Pit Filling Epoxy
EpoxyPro EP2550 is a slow curing, low viscosity 3:1 epoxy system developed for filling, sealing and encapsulating plumbing pits, service pits, pipe penetrations and underground plumbing infrastructure.
Its extended working time makes EP2550 particularly suited to larger-volume and deep fill applications. The low-viscosity resin flows around pipes, fittings and penetrations and into gaps and difficult-to-reach areas before curing to form a strong, durable and water-resistant solid fill.
EP2550 is particularly useful where plumbing penetrations need to be permanently sealed and protected against water ingress, movement and the surrounding environment.
Key Features
- 3:1 mixing ratio by volume
- 6 – 8 hour pot life at 25°C
- Slow cure for large-volume applications
- Low viscosity for excellent flow and penetration
- Suitable for deep filling and encapsulation
- Flows around pipes, fittings and penetrations
- Strong adhesion to properly prepared surfaces
- Water-resistant cured system
- Solvent-free epoxy system
- Suitable for underground and infrastructure applications
Plumbing Applications
EP2550 is designed for plumbing and civil applications including plumbing pits, service pits, pipe penetrations, underground pipework, drain and waste infrastructure, void filling, pipe encapsulation and sealing around plumbing penetrations.
The combination of low viscosity and extended working time allows the epoxy to flow around complex pipework and into irregular voids before curing.
Electrical & Multi-Service Pits
Although EP2550 is primarily positioned as a plumbing pit filling system, it can also be used for suitable electrical, communications and multi-service pit applications.
Its slow cure and excellent flow make it suitable for encapsulating around conduits and cable penetrations and for filling voids within service pits where a durable, water-resistant epoxy fill is required.
For electrical applications, suitability should be confirmed for the particular cables, components, operating temperatures and electrical requirements before use.
Available Colours
EP2550 is available clear or can be supplied with EpoxyPro RESINTINT colour tint:
- Clear
- Jet Black
- Charcoal Grey
- Safety Red
- Safety Yellow
Colouring the system can also make filled and encapsulated areas easier to identify during future plumbing, civil or service work.
Mixing & Application
Mix Ratio: 3 Parts A: 1 Part B by volume
Pot Life: 6–8 hours @ 25°C
Cure Type: Slow cure
Application: Pit filling / deep fill / encapsulation
Colours: Clear, Jet Black, Charcoal Grey, Safety Red and Safety Yellow
Ensure the pit and surfaces are properly prepared and remove standing water, loose material, mud, oil, grease and other contamination before application. Any openings, drains or pathways where uncured resin could escape must be identified and appropriately sealed before pouring.
For very large-volume applications, pour depth, total resin volume and ambient temperature need to be considered because epoxy generates heat during cure. Large fills may require staged pours depending on site conditions.
