How to Use the StaySafe All-In-1 Fire Extinguisher (Lithium & Electrical Fires)
Quick, practical guidance for keeping a compact fire safety device ready for lithium battery, electrical and common household fires.
TL;DR
- Remove cap, stand back, aim at the base of the flames, squeeze and spray.
- Keep spraying until the unit is fully discharged (recommended to reduce re-ignition risk).
- One-time use only — dispose of it after use and replace with a full unit.
- Electrical safety: safe for use on electrical equipment up to 1000V from a minimum distance of 1 metre.
What types of fires can it tackle?
StaySafe All-In-1 is designed to handle multiple fire types, reducing the need to keep several different extinguishers on hand. The manufacturer lists it as suitable for:
- Electrical fires
- Lithium-ion battery fires
- Cooking oil fires
- Petrol / diesel / motor oil fires
- Paper / card, textiles, timber / wood fires
- Bioethanol fires
Note: Always follow local fire safety guidance and your workplace/site requirements.
Where to keep it (so it’s actually useful)
The best extinguisher is the one you can reach in seconds. Consider keeping StaySafe All-In-1 in:
- Kitchen (away from direct heat sources)
- Garage / toolshed / workshop
- Office / storeroom / server or comms area
- Car (glovebox/door pocket/boot — keep secured)
- Community rooms, clubs, and shared spaces where devices charge
How to use StaySafe All-In-1 (step-by-step)
-
Pop off the cap.
Pull off the cap to get your StaySafe All-In-1 ready to go. -
Take a step back.
Stand back about 3 feet / ~1 metre and keep a clear exit behind you. -
Aim at the base of the flames.
Point the nozzle at the source of the fire (not the top of the flames). -
Press and spray.
Squeeze the nozzle to release a strong stream directly at the fire. -
Keep spraying until empty.
The fire should go out in seconds, but keep spraying until all fluid is used to help prevent re-ignition.
Important cautions & warnings
- One-time use only. After use, dispose of it properly and replace with a new unit.
- Electrical safety: safe for use on electrical equipment up to 1000V from a minimum distance of 1 metre. Do not get closer than this on live equipment.
- If the fire is growing, filling the room with smoke, or you feel unsafe: evacuate immediately and call emergency services.
- Do not delay evacuation to keep fighting a fire. Your safety comes first.
- Keep out of reach of children and store securely.
- Do not puncture or burn the container (even when empty).
- After any lithium-battery event: monitor the area and affected device for re-ignition risk, and follow local guidance for disposal.
StaySafe uses a wet chemical that the manufacturer describes as non-toxic and non-hazardous, and eco-friendly. Even so, it should only be used for fire emergencies and as directed.
Storage guidance
- Store in an accessible place where it won’t be buried behind clutter.
- Keep away from direct heat sources and secure it so it won’t roll around in a vehicle.
- Manufacturer storage range: tested and stored up to 49°C and down to -10°C with no adverse effect.
- Check your unit label/packaging for any expiry or replacement guidance.
Why this matters for lithium battery safety
Lithium-ion battery incidents can be fast, intense and unpredictable — especially around charging areas (tools, e-mobility devices, toys, laptops). Having a compact fire safety device close by can buy critical seconds while you move people to safety and stop a small incident from becoming a major fire.
