Low Viscosity 2:1 Epoxy for Wet & Damp Concrete
EpoxyPro EP8550 is a two-component, low-viscosity epoxy system specifically developed for repairing, sealing, priming and protecting concrete in wet and damp conditions.
The moisture-insensitive formulation provides excellent adhesion to prepared concrete surfaces where completely dry conditions cannot be achieved. Its low viscosity provides excellent penetration into porous concrete, helping to create a strong bond and durable moisture-resistant barrier.
EP8550 is suitable for demanding concrete applications including basements, pits, drains, plant rooms, service penetrations and other areas subject to persistent moisture.
The system cures at ambient temperature and can be applied at temperatures as low as 5°C, making it particularly suitable for civil, commercial and industrial concrete maintenance applications.

Surface Preparation
Concrete surfaces must be structurally sound and free from loose material, laitance, oil, grease and other contaminants that may interfere with adhesion.
EP8550 is specifically designed for use on wet and damp concrete; however, standing water should be removed before application.
Remove loose or deteriorated concrete and mechanically prepare smooth or contaminated surfaces where required. Thoroughly remove dust and debris before application.
Mixing
Mix Part A Resin and Part B Hardener at a ratio of 2:1 by volume.
Accurately measure both components and mix thoroughly until a uniform mixture is achieved. Scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing container during mixing to ensure complete incorporation.
EP8550 has a pot life of approximately 55–65 minutes at 25°C. Only mix an amount that can be comfortably applied within the available working time.
Higher temperatures and larger mixed quantities will reduce the pot life.
Application
Apply EP8550 by brush or roller, working the mixed epoxy firmly into the concrete surface to maximise penetration and adhesion.
On porous concrete, ensure sufficient material is applied to wet the surface thoroughly.
EP8550 can be used as a penetrating primer or sealing coat and as a bonding system for compatible subsequent epoxy repair and coating applications.
Where additional coats are required, apply in accordance with the recommended recoat procedure.
Wet & Damp Surface Performance
EP8550 uses a moisture-insensitive modified polyamide curing system specifically designed to provide adhesion to problematic concrete surfaces, including wet and damp concrete.
The system provides excellent penetration into porous concrete and forms a durable epoxy barrier to help resist moisture and hydrostatic pressure beneath subsequent coatings.
Packaging
EP8550 is supplied as a pre-proportioned 2:1 by-volume resin and hardener kit.
Storage
Store unopened containers in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, moisture and excessive heat. Keep containers tightly sealed when not in use.
